Get To Know Paola Moya, Moya Design Partners
Paola Moya is the founder & CEO of Moya Design Partners (MOYA). Made up of architects, designers, and innovators, MOYA provides all-inclusive design services in architecture, interiors, graphic design, and brand strategy.
Moving to the US from Columbia and committing herself to an education and a career, Paola had been running another firm just a few years prior to founding MOYA. A key lesson she learned at that time was about finding the right work-life balance.
“I think when we are faced with challenges in our life, that is when we learn exponentially,” says Paola. “It’s important to take time to invest in your family, your friends, and yourself.”
This lesson, in addition to many others gleaned during her career to that point, allowed Paola to start MOYA on her own terms, truly making it a firm she could be proud to lead, and that would allow for the right work-life balance. Based in Washington, DC, MOYA was founded in 2017. With diversity, philanthropy, and design excellence at the heart of the firm, MOYA makes a special effort to support and work with organizations that advance social causes and improve the living conditions of many.
Paola is proud to have brought on the right partners to further benefit the firm’s operations, and to have made it a cloud-based organization, giving her the ability to both travel and work globally. Thanks to the cloud, Paola can access a worldwide pool of talent to build her team.
“Having that global connection allowed me to work with people with different backgrounds,” says Paola. “It’s been three years, and right now we’re about 35 people. We work with people all over the world.”
