Get To Know Theresa Leatherbury, Rachuba
Theresa Leatherbury is the President & CEO of Rachuba, a family-owned and operated property management company that develops communities. Started by Theresa’s grandfather in the wake of WWII, Rachuba eventually passed hands to her father.
At first, Theresa did not intend to join the family business — she worked as an actuary for some time, but as the specific field of work she operated in began to shrink, she accepted an invitation from her father to get involved. It didn’t take long for Theresa to begin applying her natural leadership talents at Rachuba.
“I quickly came into that leadership role,” says Theresa. “I’m taking [my father’s] legacy, not only for the business, but also, his vision and desire to fund a family foundation.”
For three generations in Theresa’s family, Rachuba has been directed by a core principle: the development of an unwavering reputation for excellence. Theresa and the Rachuba team take pride in ensuring residents on their properties feel well taken care of, which only serves to further grow the value of their assets.
“If the residents are happy, that just leads to an increase in the value of the property,” says Theresa. “That adds value to the investors, if we can show we care about the residents.”
